IAB Europe Announces New Governance Board its Transparency & Consent Framework

Brussels, Belgium, 15th July 2026 - IAB Europe is pleased to announce the composition of the new TCF Governance Board, following the recent nomination process from Steering Group membership.

The Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF) is an accountability tool that relies on standardisation to facilitate compliance with certain provisions of the ePrivacy Directive and the GDPR. It applies principles and requirements derived from these two legislative instruments to the specific context of the online industry, taking account of relevant EU-level guidance from the EDPB and national level guidance from Data Protection Authorities.

The TCF Governance Board plays a critical role in the TCF holding all TCF instances to account and ensuring that the correct processes are followed by the TCF Steering Group and the Managing Organisation (IAB Europe) in developing outcomes that align with the Framework's strategic objectives. The Board has 15 seats, nominated from Steering Group membership, with up to 8 additional observer seats occupied by National IABs and EU industry organisations. It meets four times per year.
