We're Hiring! Senior EU Relations Manager

IAB Europe is recruiting a Senior EU Relations Manager with good knowledge of the digital advertising industry and the capacity to translate between technology, business, and policy perspectives to support its policy advocacy across key legislative initiatives impacting the advertising ecosystem.

This role offers a unique opportunity for a policy professional to take on substantial responsibility and visibility within a dynamic European trade association operating at the centre of digital policy debates. The successful candidate will support advocacy efforts on major policy initiatives of relevance for the digital marketing ecosystem (including the Digital Omnibus and the Digital Fairness Act), engaging extensively with EU institutions, industry stakeholders, and member companies.

The position is ideally suited to an individual who has already worked within the digital advertising & marketing industry and is looking to take the next step in their public policy career by moving into a highly autonomous and externally visible leadership role with significant scope for professional growth and development.

The Senior EU Relations Manager will report to, and work closely with, the legal director and will play an important role in shaping IAB Europe’s broader advocacy priorities, stakeholder engagement, and external positioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of IAB Europe’s EU policy advocacy strategy across priority legislative initiatives, in close collaboration with the legal director and the Policy Team. 
  • Lead on the promotion of IAB Europe policy positions, consultation responses, and other external engagement materials. 
  • Represent IAB Europe in interactions with the European Commission, European Parliament, and Council 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with policymakers and EU institutional officials. 
  • Develop and execute a media outreach strategy and lead on external communications of policy positioning, enlisting public relations agency support as appropriate. 
  • Work collaboratively with legal, communications, and industry engagement colleagues to ensure aligned and effective external positioning on policy matters.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will combine strong EU policy expertise with intellectual curiosity about technology and digital business models, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, multicultural, multi-stakeholder environment.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 5-7 years of relevant professional experience in EU public policy, government affairs, advocacy, regulatory affairs, or related fields. 
  • A strong understanding of EU institutions, legislative procedures, and policymaking processes. 
  • Good knowledge of digital advertising technology and the commercial operation of the advertising ecosystem, based on experience working in a corporate context or related industry association
  • Familiarity with EU policy developments impacting ad-supported business models 
  • A well-developed EU institutional network 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex policy files and advocacy initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to translate complex issues into clear strategic messaging.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-management capabilities.
  • Full professional fluency in English and at least one other European language.
