In a joint effort involving IAB Europe, IAB Tech Lab, EDAA and stakeholders across the advertising industry to support compliance with Article 26 of the Digital Services Act, we are pleased to announce the publication of a new version of the DSA Transparency Implementation Guidelines that should be used in conjunction with IAB Tech Lab’s OpenRTB DSA Transparency Extension.
Article 26 of the DSA includes requirements for online platforms to provide end-users with transparency about the ads they see. Recognising that online platforms often don't hold all necessary data to present to the end-users, the DSA Transparency Extension facilitates this data flow through the digital advertising supply chain.
The DSA Transparency Implementation Guidelines 1.1 incorporate updates based on industry collaboration and feedback, including:
Ongoing workstreams and next steps
The DSA Ads Transparency Taskforce continues to engage with regulators and stakeholders to evaluate the evolving needs across the industry, develop new policy guidance for further iterations to the OpenRTB extension maintained by IAB Tech Lab and promote industry adoption of this standardised approach.
We encourage stakeholders across the digital advertising ecosystem to review the updated Guidelines and integrate the enhancements into their implementation.
