IAB Europe has an opening for a paid internship under the Belgian Convention d’Immersion Professionnelle (CIP) programme for an initial period of 6 months, with the possibility of extension up to 12 months, based in Brussels. As a Public Policy Intern, you will contribute to shaping the policy landscape for digital advertising and marketing in Europe.
This internship is structured as a professional immersion programme with clear learning objectives designed to develop your expertise in EU public policy and the digital advertising ecosystem. You will work closely with experienced policy professionals and progressively develop the skills required to analyse legislation, draft policy materials, and engage with the EU policymaking process.
About IAB Europe:
IAB Europe is the leading European-level association for the digital marketing and advertising ecosystem. Our membership includes media, marketing, advertising and technology companies.
Responsibilities/Scope of Work:
As a Public Policy Intern, you will closely collaborate with IAB Europe's Senior Public Policy Manager and the Senior Public Policy Officer. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Monitoring and reporting: Monitoring key policy developments and providing regular updates to the IAB Europe team and members, including preparing and distributing policy briefings.
Policy analysis and position papers: Conducting policy analysis and supporting the drafting of position papers, consultation responses, policy briefings, and other advocacy materials on digital and data policy files affecting the digital advertising ecosystem.
Outreach and advocacy: Supporting outreach and advocacy activities with European institutions, industry stakeholders, and other policymakers, including supporting the preparation of meetings with EU institutions and external stakeholders.
Member and Industry support: Assist in the management of the Policy Committee. Respond to ad hoc requests from IAB Europe members by conducting research on specific policy topics.
Support in organizing policy events: Assisting in the organization of policy events, identifying and coordinating speakers, drafting invitations and supporting the smooth delivery of events.
About you:
To be considered for the role of Public Policy Intern at IAB Europe, you should meet the following criteria:
Bachelor's degree in law, politics, international affairs, or a related field. Alternatively, a Master's degree in political/international/EU affairs.
Fluency in English is essential. Knowledge of another EU language is an advantage.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Strong analytical skills, allowing you to critically assess complex policy issues.
An interest in digital technologies and business, and an understanding of how law and public policy shape both.
A strong interest in EU policymaking and international affairs.
