Usercentrics has published a new analysis of its State of Digital Trust Report 2026, based on a Sapio Research survey of 11,000 consumers across seven markets. It looks at "resigned consent", where people grant AI access to their data while feeling uncomfortable. 16% of consumers fall into this group, compared with 7% who say yes comfortably.
The analysis finds the pattern in every data category tested, peaking in Germany at nearly 2.5x the rate in the UK and US, and shows brands have a clear opening to turn a resigned yes into a real one.
