The MIXX Awards Europe recognise and celebrate the best digital advertising campaigns in Europe. Winning entries will be showcased to educate the marketplace about what works and why within digital marketing, as well as inspire the industry by highlighting innovations and future trends.

All European campaigns that have been entered into a national or international award competition are invited to participate.

Gold, Silver and Bronze awards are available for each category. Gold award winners will be entered into the MIXX Grand Prix award representing the pinnacle of achievement in European digital marketing this year.

With over 20 years of media experience, Eddie has worked across a wide range of clients and categories at a national, regional & global level. Starting his career within research at Leo Burnett, he moved into a trading role and was UK Buying Director for all media in the UK. After moving into a regional investment role for P&G, he became investment director for global network clients before moving to his current role of Managing Partner for Value Management within Publicis Media Exchange. In addition to business development responsibilities, his current experience sees him linking the strategic insights and approach of Publicis Media’s agency brands to quantifiable media and business value for clients. Outside of work, Eddie lives his life through the eyes of 2 two daughters and the footballing skills of his son (a fellow long-suffering Newcastle United fan).

Batričević

Project Director, Agency Drive
Branka gained her first marketing knowledge and experience at McCann Beograd by working with
numerous clients on traditional communication channels. She has been part of the team of the digital agency MRM Belgrade (the forerunner of today's agency Drive) since its founding.
Branka has extensive experience in digital projects and services, implementation of the IMC process, as well as supporting and managing teams in different markets to deliver successful global projects. While recognizing today's simultaneous need for specialization and integration in the field of marketing, she focuses on assisting clients in their business transformation with the use of technology, which encourages the growth of their business. As an IMC Director in UM Beograd and IMC and New Business Director in McCann Beograd, she was overseeing multi-agency teams and processes to meet and achieve clients' business goals, while also representing the agency culture, values and corporate policies.
Today, she is leading and supervising Drive team for one of the agency's most important clients.

Agnieszka Parfienowicz

Partner, Digital, Mindshare Poland
Marcomm professional with 15 years experience in marketing, advertising and CRM program development for both local and international clients like Mercedes-Benz, SAB Miller, Porsche Romania, Molson Coors, Bayer, Friesland Campina, Orange, Kaufland, BRD.

In Bucharest, he is the Vice President of IAB and the Event Director of the IAB MIXX Awards. Over the course of just 2 years, he revitalized IAB MIXX Awards in the local market, transforming the festival into a creative and efficient benchmark that supports and promotes top advertising professionals.

Andrei is also the COO of v8 where he oversees the agency's product standard, development and all-around market footprint. In the last 5 years, he enabled v8’s regional expansion and its top-level positioning on the local market.

In the past, he held similar roles and achievements for BBDO Proximity where, throughout his 4-year tenure, he managed the agency’s top clients and developed new business verticals by building a social media video content production department and a marketing e-CRM team.

Antonia’s seasoned career in both B2B and B2C marketing has earned her extensive knowledge across a multitude of sectors including AdTech, Broadcast Media, Digital Advertising, and Financial Services. Prior to joining Samsung Ads in 2020, Antonia worked for Outbrain where she served as Head of International Marketing (EMEA, APAC & LATAM) and previously held marketing manager roles at HSBC and CNN.”

Staios

Digital Director, UM
Andreas was born in Athens and has been the Digital Director of UM Greece since 2011. Before UM, he has worked at many multinational agencies like Ogilvy, Saatch&Saatchi and Nielsen designing strategies for both local and international brands.

He was always was a techy. When it came to business this gave him the best opportunity to build long term, exciting relationships with brands. He had the chance to design digital strategy for a wide array of multinational (American Express, Carlsberg Group, J&J, Reckitt Benckiser, Mattel, JLR, Pernod Ricard etc.) and local accounts (BCA, Olympos etc.) including retail accounts (Carrefour).

Andreas is a member of the Committee of IAB Greece, Greek representative in IAB Europe and part of the jury committee for all big, local or global, awards.

He has worked in media communication agencies (Universal McCann, Ph.D.), leading them in Poland for 12 years.

Tadeusz is the founder of SmartHuman – a series of events on smart technological solutions which are human-centric, a member of Brain Embassy and Google Campus communities, and he is the Omnichannel Programme Leader / Strategic Advisor at The Heart Warsaw – a programme of leading startups with corporations in three omnichannel communication areas: Consumer Intelligence, Marketing & Sales Automation, Future Point of Sales.

Roberts

PwC & Women in Programmatic Network
Emily Roberts is a digital and programmatic senior associate with a wide range of experience over the past 8 years across the EMEA region. She spent six years working within the top UK publishers specialising in programmatic advertising, most recently heading up the commercial programmatic arm across EMEA at the BBC. In her spare time she runs one of the leading women’s networks in the advertising industry, called The Women in Programmatic Network.

She has also worked at Google, in the YouTube agency team and The Guardian programmatic sales team, as well as running a start up advertising agency.

Iskrev

Creative Director, Proof. and Board Member, IAB Bulgaria
Angel Iskrev is creative director at proof. (an independent creative agency based in Sofia Bulgaria, part of By The Network). He has more than 12 years of experience in advertising. His work for brands such as Telenor Hungary&Bulgaria, Carlsberg Bulgaria, Lidl Bulgaria, fritz-kola, TELUS International Europe, four paws, and many more, has received more than 250 awards at national and international festivals.

He co-created proof. at the end of 2018. The agency went to won digital agency of the year at IAB MiXX Awards 2018, 2020 & 2021 & 2022 proof. won creative agency of the year in 2022 at FARA (Bulgaria’s most prestigious creative festival).

Anna
Lubowska

Senior Executive, Independent Business Advisor
In 1992 Anna entered the advertising world as a Media Director at BBDO. From 1998 she led MEC in Poland and then, Central Eastern Europe. From 2010 Anna was Chairman, CEE, Russia and CIS. In 2018 she held the position of CEO GroupM Poland, the largest media investment group controlling nearly 40% share in the market.

After over 25 years within advertising holdings, Anna moved to an independent consultancy role. Since 2019 she has been working as a mentor, business and marketing advisor and member of supervisory boards.

As well as her business duties she has always been active in advertising community initiatives such as the Polish Confederation Lewiatan (Main Council member), SAR Marketing Communication Association (President of the board between 2009 and 2011), and various contests including Effie, Cannes, Media Trendy, Golden Hammer, Golden Drums, Cristal Awards, and European MIXX Awards.

Media & Marketing, a leading trade magazine in Poland, named her the legend of the Polish media, marketing, and advertising industry in 2019.

Barbara
Sala

CEE Strategic Connection and Media Director, Coca-Cola
Barbara Sala brings 30 years of experience in the holistic marketing area with different roles covered during her professional career kicked off with a degree in Economics (Bocconi University of Milan) and a 9 months Master in Strategic Marketing.

She kicked off her journey in the marketing team of Mondelez, moving then to Coca-Cola Italy joining the local strategic marketing team and then extending her responsibility to the full IMC capabilities, meaning digital, media, experiential, packaging, trade marketing etc…

From 2013 she spent 3 years at the agency side as CEO of Vizeum Italy and in 2016 she came back to the Coca-Cola Company where she is currently European Strategic Connections Director managing 40 countries as part of an international and integrated marketing team, focusing on data-driven communication and bringing in house data management in the last 2 years.

She has been an adjacent professor at the Cattolica University of Milan covering the area of digital and interactive marketing.

Szymon Kukanow is the Managing Partner at PHD media agency (part of Omnicom). Senior Director of Creative Solutions EMEA, Xaxis
Emanuela is the Senior Director of Creative Solutions at Xaxis EMEA. A curious technologist with 20 years of experience in digital advertising, she is truly passionate about marrying data, tech and creativity.

In her role, Emanuela is responsible in driving creative innovation in the programmatic space across our 20 + EMEA markets, and she is leading the Xaxis Creative Studios which is Xaxis’ in-house creative execution team.

Before Xaxis, she was at Microsoft EMEA, driving the strategy for Microsoft AdExchange and audience data products.

Elsa Kalervo has varied experience in media, public relations, and public speaking, including a decade of experience in working with commercial broadcasting. Starting as a radio personality and later moving on to producing, she now works as the Digital Audio Manager for Finland’s leading commercial radio broadcaster Bauer Media. Currently, she also acts as the chair for IAB Finland’s digital audio task force. Kalervo has a master’s degree in communication and a heart full of passion for the spoken word in a digital environment.

Kate MacKenzie leads TikTok’s European B2B Marketing & Communications function and is responsible for building the TikTok for Business brand in the region through innovative and creative marketing content, channels and campaigns.

Berit has been in marketing roles in Germany and the UK for the past 16 years. She joined Meta’s business marketing team in 2017 and has since led a range of global and regional marketing programs. Her team helps tailor marketing strategies to the needs of priority audiences and works hand-in-hand with country marketing teams, product marketing and comms to drive impact.



Prior to working at Meta, Berit spent 5 years at programmatic adtech company, dataxu (now part of Roku), where she was hired as Europe’s first marketing director for the company.

With over 25 years in the industry Emma has divided her career across both agency and client side positions. Firstly leading the dot.com boom in the late 90s for many leading financial services clients, before building the WPP digital team at Wunderman for the P&G business. Since the agency world Emma has held positions with BT and mostly recently Visa where she has driven the activation of the Olympics, FIFA and Women’s UEFA sponsorships, as well as launching Visa contactless, Visa mobile payments, Visa Checkout and much more in the UK. Having been with Visa for 11 years Emma is now Head of Digital, Content, Media & Brand for Europe with a focus on building media capabilities for the organising that drive greater effective for the region.

Previously Chief Digital Officer of IPG Mediabrands , CEO of Reprise ( awarded Forbes Diamond), board member of Magna and UM, CEE Digital Consultant at HAVAS and member of the Supervisory Board of IAB Poland. For several years, she has been convincing for the skilful use of interactive media related to changing consumer habits. Awarded the title of Top Thinkers by Screenlovers and Businesswomen of The Year by Puls Biznesu. Graduate of the University of Warsaw and the Polish Academy of Sciences with a certificate in creating social and behavioural expertise. Outstanding Contribution Award

The Outstanding Contribution Award is for a team or an individual who has  demonstrated an outstanding contribution to the digital advertising industry over the last 12 months. For more information download the entry notes here and make your entry here

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to enter the awards?

The early bird entry fee (enter by Friday 10th March) is €250 (excl. VAT) for entering a campaign in one category; €150 (excl. VAT) for entering the same campaign in additional categories.

The regular entry fee is (from 11th March to Friday 14th April): €400 (excl. VAT) for entering a campaign in one category; €250 (excl. VAT) for entering the same campaign in additional categories.

Entrants from the smaller European markets can take advantage of the early bird entry fee throughout the competition. The definition of a ‘small market’ is a market with a total digital ad spend revenue of €0.6bn or less as per our AdEx Benchmark 2021 Report. The markets are:, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia. 

Please note, we are not currently accepting any entries from Russia or Belarus due to our suspension of all cooperation with IAB Russia and Belarus (see IAB Europe statement here).

What is the entry deadline?

Early bird deadline: 10th March

Regular deadline: 14th April

Can I enter more than one campaign?

Yes, as long as the campaign has been entered into a local MIXX Awards, or equivalent, competition.

Can I enter a campaign that has previously been entered into another awards competition?

Yes, we welcome campaigns that have been entered into other awards competitions.

What timeframe should the campaign be?

All European campaigns that have been entered into another national or international award competition from 2021 to present can be entered.

Do I get a discount for entering more than one award?

A discount is available for entering a campaign into more than one category (see fees under question one). It is not possible to get a discount for entering multiple campaigns.

Can I enter more than one category?

Yes, you can enter each campaign into multiple categories. There is a discounted fee for each additional category (see entry fees under question 1). If you would like to enter the same project into multiple categories, please use the same details and materials for each category. If you wish to tailor the details according to each category, then please submit these as a separate entry.

What information do I need to provide?

The entry form asks for a campaign summary as well as details of:

  • The objectives and strategy
  • The media and execution
  • The creative 
  • Any innovation in the campaign
  • The campaign results

 

Entrants are also required to upload a supporting video which should:

  • Be no longer than 3 minutes
  • Be in a .mp4 format
  • explain the campaign and showcase the creative
  • be in English or have English subtitles

How will my entry be evaluated?

The judges will give a score against each criteria for each entry as per the criteria outlined in the entry notes. These factors are then combined to create a total score for each entry.  All judges' scores are totaled and the highest scoring entries will determine the shortlist.  The judges will then meet to discuss the highest scoring entries and then agree on winners for each category.

When will I know if my entry has been shortlisted?

The shortlist will be published W/C 15th May.
