[Watch on Demand] IAB Europe's The Great Debate - Trust & Transparency 2024
Oct 18,2024
Nicole Laleva
On 16th October, we hosted our Great Debate webinar, where we explored the future of trust and transparency in 2024 and beyond. Leading industry experts shared their insights on key topics driving trust and transparency in digital advertising today, including emerging channels, sustainability, AI, and more.
This event was an invaluable opportunity for attendees to gather insights and take notes on what should be on everyone's agenda to shape a more transparent and trustworthy digital landscape for the future.

Several key questions guided our discussion:
Defining Trust and Transparency Each expert took a moment to define what trust and transparency means to them, highlighting the varied perspectives within the industry. Their insights underscored the importance of a shared understanding as we move forward.
Self-Regulation vs. Government Regulation The panel debated whether self-regulation is sufficient to ensure transparency in digital advertising or if we need more stringent government regulations. This discussion highlighted the tension between industry autonomy and the need for accountability.
Setting Standards A critical question emerged: Who should take the lead in setting standards—advertisers, agencies, or platforms? The panelists examined the roles each stakeholder plays and the collaboration required to establish effective standards.
Balancing AI Innovation with Ethical Concerns With the rise of AI in digital advertising, the experts discussed how to balance innovation with ethical concerns around data privacy and manipulation. This conversation emphasized the need for ongoing dialogue and strategic approaches to navigate the complexities of AI.
We encourage everyone to reflect on these discussions and consider how they can contribute to a more transparent and trustworthy digital advertising landscape. Don't miss this opportunity to align your strategies with the insights shared by industry leaders!
