On 29th September, IAB Europe and the European Advertising Standards Alliance (EASA) hosted a webinar introducing AdEthics - a new European initiative designed to support influencers and content creators in maintaining high standards of transparency, responsibility, and compliance in advertising.
For those who missed the live event, the session is now available to watch on demand.
AdEthics is a comprehensive programme that offers both training and certification for influencers and content creators. It aims to raise awareness of advertising regulations and ethical communication practices across the creator economy, at both a national and European level.
The programme consists of two key components:
Currently active in seven countries, with with more to follow, AdEthics provides localised content tailored to reflect specific national advertising rules while aligning with broader self-regulatory frameworks.
The webinar opened with a brief introduction from IAB Europe and EASA, followed by a detailed presentation on the AdEthics initiative. Attendees gained insight into how the programme was developed, how it is being implemented across different markets, and how it supports both creators and regulators in promoting transparency and trust online.
The session concluded with a live Q&A, where participants had the opportunity to engage directly with EASA experts. Topics ranged from practical implementation and certification criteria to long-term plans for expansion and collaboration with industry stakeholders.
With influencer marketing continuing to grow as a central pillar of digital advertising, the need for clear standards and ethical practices has never been greater. AdEthics addresses this need by equipping creators with the tools and knowledge necessary to build trust with their audiences and operate within a transparent advertising ecosystem.
