Bavaria has always been considered the home of beer. Here, where the "Decree on the Purity of Beer" is still in force, which since 1516 requires local producers to use only water, malt, hops and yeast in the manufacture of their beers, Kühbacher Bier, in the respect for nature and tradition. Thanks to a non-invasive production, which involves reduced temperature followed by a long maturation period (3-16 weeks), our beer is natural, unpasteurized, free of preservatives and flavourings. In 1839 Maximilian, Duke of Bavaria, father of the famous Princess Sissi and owner of Kühbach Castle, built a new brewery. In 1862 the entire property was purchased by Joseph Anton Beck-Peccoz, at the time he was a steel entrepreneur in Bavaria. The property has been in the hands of the Beck-Peccoz family for over 150 years. descendant of an ancient Walser lineage, population residing in the Valley for over 700 years. Some members emigrated to Bavaria in the 18th century. merchants, then industrialists. The family is of double nobility: Ludwig I, King of Bavaria, conferred the title in 1840 and years later the royal family of Freiherr von Beck Savoy validated this ennobling for the Italian line with the title of Baron de Peccoz.
