Targeted advertising is about more than mere business. It provides vital support for SMEs as the backbone of Europe’s economy, is intertwined with the promotion and protection of European culture, delivers a growth engine for European champions to thrive on the global stage, and supports a pluralistic media landscape. Europe is looking to find its role in the digital economy with an ambitious industrial policy, and targeted advertising is a core ingredient to deliver on these plans.

Daniel Knapp, Chief Economist, IAB Europe, has produced an empirical study that systematically explores these contributions of targeted advertising. In this seminar, he will present key findings and moderate a stimulating debate about how targeted advertising can be used for good to continue delivering these values.
