The Sustainability Standards Committee brings the industry together to support the digital advertising ecosystem in improving sustainability through practical guidance, standards development, and industry benchmarking across Europe.
2026 priorities include:
- Industry Education - Helping members maintain momentum on sustainability by improving awareness, participation, and uptake of training and guidance.
- Standardisation & Guidelines - Improving the usability and representativeness of sustainability standards, and increasing transparency in how they are applied, including enhancing emissions methodology with sustaintech, ad tech, and wider industry, providing guidance on GMSF application and providing targeted standards development.
- Market Intelligence - Establishing a clearer, comparable view of the ecosystem’s progress across ESG, including social sustainability through our annual State of Readiness - Sustainability in Digital Advertising Report, and gap-analysis work.
- Thought-Leadership & Networking - Creating structured industry dialogue and practical guidance through events like our Great Debate on sustainability, and ad-hoc guidance on definitions, standards and implementation.
The committee is open to all IAB Europe members, including corporate companies and National IABs from across Europe, and is led by:
