Mission

IAB Belgium is the networking and knowledge platform for interactive advertising and digital marketing in Belgium.  Its main mission is to promote and develop the digital and interactive market by informing, educating, defending, regulating, researching and organizing networking initiatives and activities.

Members

IAB Belgium brings together all the players in the Belgian digital and interactive marketing landscape: advertisers, media agencies, creative agencies, publishers, sales houses and service providers including Internet, search, e-mail, mobile, iDTV, radio and social media. All these companies can apply for membership.

There are 200 companies and 2,500 people in IAB Belgium. There’s more information on these companies and their activities on www.iab-belgium.be.

Workgroups

By participating in workgroups and task forces, members share their knowledge and experience to help the market grow and become more professional. The mission of IAB Belgium is embodied in the activities of six workgroups:  Research, Efficiency, Legal, Training, E-business and Channel. The Channel Workgroup coordinates eight task forces where industry experts from digital media and sectors work together:  Webvertising, Search, E-mail marketing, Mobile, iDTV, Radio, B2B and Social Media.

Events

IAB Belgium organizes events with different goals: networking, education and recognition

  • NetCafé: Evening seminar with three speakers on one subject + networking reception. Free for members
  • Breakfast: Morning seminar with three speakers on one subject. Free for members
  • Academy: Three days on the basics of interactive advertising/marketing; reduction for members
  • Workshop: Half or full day on one topic – experienced level; price reduction for members
  • Legal Workshops: Two hour workshop on legal matters. Free for members
  • Annual Congress: One day congress with keynotes and cases; price reduction for members
  • Mixx Awards: Evening ceremony, dinner and party; price reduction for members.

Awards

  • Mixx Awards: Award to the best interactive cases of the year – 100 submissions
  • Talent Award: Award to the best student papers on interactive marketing – 15 submissions
  • Belgian Cyber Lions Awards: Award to the best creative interactive Belgian campaigns (pre-Cannes) – 50 submissions.

Special Projects

10before10/Barometers

Goal: get 10% of advertising investments to move to interactive marketing before 2010.

How: research 15 economic sectors in order to know how the consumer thinks about interactive marketing and inform advertisers, CEOs, media agencies, strategic planners and creatives through company visits, advertisers’ events, quarterly magazine, CEO lunches, strategic planners, travels etc.

Spamsquad.be

Goal : get the academic world, authorities and business together to fight spam and to preserve e-mail marketing
How? Regular meetings to update the consumer website on spam and how to avoid it with tips and trends and to talk about spam and new developments.
